How Do We Know We Are Saved?

How do we know you’re saved? There’s three basic ways: first is the Bible—it tells you you’re saved; it’s good not to guess and think; First John 5 says, I have written these things that you may know, not may hope, may feel, may wonder, but know, so you can definitely know you’re saved; another is that we have a life in us that loves people that we’ve never met—we love Christians, you’re at the grocery store and somebody says they’re a believer, you can’t help but be happy, be excited, you have to realize there’s something in me that loves somebody, you do not see this outside the world, there’s a love for the brothers; third thing is that we have a spirit within that witnesses, Romans 8:16, this is really where we are in our Christian life, so many times we just have a sense, there’s someone in me that witnesses, when I say I’m a child of God there’s an amen that I’m a child of God, so you have an internal realization there’s something in me; and especially as those that maybe were living one way before Christ, you try to live the same way and you just get bothered, you do not feel the same, you wonder why, how come everybody else is having a good time doing the same things, now I can’t—that’s because there’s a person in you, Christ, who doesn’t like it, and He infuses those feelings into you, that’s because He’s now in your spirit; we know we’re saved.
